Family Counsellor Slough
“Don’t ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own” – Michelle Obama
I am a Registered Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and have been practicing as a therapist since 2004. I offer counselling in English, Punjabi and Hindi.
My aim is to provide a friendly, respectful and non- judgemental safe environment in which you are able to safely explore any issues that might bring you to therapy. I have gained invaluable practical experience working with people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Trust is crucial in all relationships and through our exploration, we will aim for self-development, enhanced self-esteem and wellbeing.
In both short and longer term work, techniques from a number of theoretical approaches such as psychodynamic and CBT may be used. I work collaboratively, adapting my approach to the needs and objectives of each person.
I work with an integrative and person centred approach. This approach can also work well for clients who are experiencing stress and relationship difficulties. I have experience of counselling in many areas including Mental Health, Prisons, Schools, NHS referrals, amongst others.
All sessions are client led and my role is to provide clients with space to explore, reflect on their lives, relationships, emotions, feelings and thought processes (be it conscious or unconscious material) in an empathetic, non-judgemental and congruent manner.
